Education speakers
While we're unable to have our Education Stage speaker's schedule in it's usual format, we're pleased to advise our speakers will be presenting through our webinar platform. All Coeliac Australia Queensland members and ticket holders for the Brisbane Gluten Free Expo will be provided with registration login to access these webinars in the comfort of home. You can attend these webinars live or watch the recorded sessions at times convenient to you. These webinars will also be available for viewers nationally to purchase so all can hear the latest research updates happening at Wesley Medical Research.

Dr James Daveson is a gastroenterologist actively involved in both the clinical care of people with coeliac disease and also research into coeliac disease. He remains engaged in trials exploring novel therapeutics as well as novel techniques of diagnosis. Dr Daveson is an adjunct Associate Professor with James Cook University, a member of Coeliac Australia’s Medical Advisory Committee and works closely with support groups to promote better awareness, management and research into coeliac disease. Dr Daveson has been published in internationally recognised peer reviewed journals, is the author of several book chapters and is engaged in regular presentations to general practitioners, physicians, dietitians and the general public.

Dr Richard Muir is a full time clinical Paediatric Gastroenterologist with a private practice based at the Wesley Hospital. He is also a VMO at the Mater and St Andrews Hospitals. Dr Muir graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland and trained in Paediatric Gastroenterology at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Mater Children’s Hospital, Brisbane. He has a special clinical and research interest in paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease and coeliac disease. He also contributes regularly to clinical projects at the Wesley Hospital and the Queensland Children’s Hospital and is a co-author on numerous peer reviewed articles.
